SoloTurk, was established by Turkish Air Force on January 14, 2010 after Pilot Major Murat KELEŞ, Pilot Captain Fatih BATMAZ and Pilot Captain Sedat Yalın AHBAB were selected as the founding team. The aim was to show the capabilities of Turkish pilots and to encourage young people to aviation. The eagle head on the Solo Turk is the symbol of the Turkish Air Force. Gold colored moon stars, symbolizes the value given to the Turkish nation. Silver star on the top of the aircraft means star of the 21st century and the eagle in the wing means freedom in the spirit of aviation.

SoloTurk which shows Turkish pilot’s talents and superior training standards to all friends and enemy with the manoeuvre on F16 Warrior Falcon Aircraft, has become pride of our country with his flight demonstrations both in Turkey and abroad and encourage young people to fly.

Murat KELEŞ, who was one of the first pilots of SoloTurk, prepared and documented flight demonstration manoeuvres, has started his career by joining the Air Force Academy and graduated as an aeronautical engineer. After a two-year flight training in İzmir Çiğli, he served his country as a jet pilot in the Turkish Air Force. Within this period, he took part in the founding team of SoloTürk and performed the first training sortie for F-16 Demonstration Flight on 18 May 2010. His training was completed on 20 August 2010 and he has become the first Demo Pilot of F16 Demo Team.
In 2012, Murat KELEŞ resigned from Turkish Air Forces on his own will with the rank of Major.

Same year he took part in the testing process of Turkish and Pakistan Air Force’s F-16 modernization as a test pilot. After that he was on the first test team of HÜRKUŞ a certification test pilot. Murat KELEŞ is one of the rare pilot authorized to fly F16 aircraft as a civilian pilot. During his career, he performed around 4000 hours’ flight on 25 different military and civil aircraft.

Murat KELEŞ, who started his career as a flight instructor in AYJET on 7 March 2019, will transfer the knowledge and experience he has gathered during his career to the next generations who make Murat KELEŞ their idol and are ready to fly freely in the sky.
